Well, yesturday, as you know, the pups were born

It was acually alot different than I imagined and I can say this right now, we
won´t be doing this again..I´m
so not made for this.
Not because everything went horribly wrong, thank god, everything went as planned and Bella did wonderful, but because had anything gone wrong, in that moment when you only have a split second to react and you have to be cold blooded and level headed and know exactly what you´re doing, I simply would not have been able to function.Had anything strayed from textbook, I would have freaked out. It´s very hard when it´s
your dog.
Since yesturday, I have a new found respect for breeders and I am one of those people who agree that you have to be a certain kind of person to do that. You are trully amazing women! *bows down to you*
Anyhoo.
Yesturday Bella was acting weird all day.Not anything that made me think "yeah, she´s in labour", but I did feel that something was going to happen soon.I had read everything I could get my hands on, I had spent waaaaay to much time with my mentor and I had watched endless videos of dog whelping on youtube etc, so I thought I knew what to look out for and what was going to happen

I was looking out for the panting, everything I had been told and read had told me that when a dog is in
early labour, she starts to pant, and that this stage could last for a few hours.
Bella was mellow, sleepy and very clingy and had poop incontinence as of yesturday, so I started to wash the rags and towels I was going to use for the birth of the puppies etc and I sat around waiting for this "panting" stage.
Suddenly, at 7pm, Bella went from being totally asleep on the couch, to sitting up straight and panting franticly. So of course, I thought "great! This is it..in a few hours, things will start to get heavy".
I took Bella into my room to her whelping box where she continued to completely FREAK OUT! (panting and turning in circles as if running from her own butt)
She wanted NOTHING to do with the whelping box and tried to get up onto my bed (which is where she has slept since was a baby) so to calm her down, and thinking we had a long way to go yet, I sat on my bed and put her on my lap, turned on the TV so she´d calm down (this is our night routine) and I petted her belly.
DH came in with his phone (in case we needed to call someone) and 2 minutes later, Bella strained, so I put her next to me on the bed, lifted her tail, and in another strain, this happened (taken with DHs phone):

Bella quickly burst the "bubble" on her own, and in another push, the pup came right out, butt first.Bella started licking her straight away and she bit through the cord (placenta still on the inside) and the first pup was free.

I scooped her up and started "roughing her up" gently in a small rag until she was squirming about and making a noise. Then Bella wanted to push again, so I handed the first pup to DH and payed attention to Bella again.
The first placenta came out and we let her eat that. Then 5 minutes later the second puppy came (alot quicker this time) and again, Bella bit through the cord before the placenta was out.
Now we sat waiting for the second placenta thinking Bella was done.I washed my hands, I wiped Bella down a little and then I quickly updated on here

Then suddenly, bella stood up and started to push and I asumed it was the placenta..it wasnt, it was another puppy!

So, all went well, although it was ALOT faster than I thought and in the end, she had the pups on my bed, right there with DH and I.
Afterwards we moved her and the pups to her bed on the floor right next to mine (only place she´ll stay) and she has been laying with them ever since

3.5ounces
& 3 ounces
She has eaten today and she´s peed, but she hasnt pooped yet. Also, Bella is panting alot today too.
She doesnt have a fever and she´s fine, so why is she panting?

It´s not too hot at all, infact we thought she´d need a hot water bottle last night, but it´s stil pretty warm here, so that´s gone for now.
Is it normal for her to be panting?
