I waited almost 4 years after Jilly died to look for another dog and it took over a year of fruitless looking in shelters and rescues before I found Tibbe so waiting is just not smart for most people. If you wait too long, it's lonely and awful. If you can get ready to accept another dog and help yourself deal with that kind of pain losing a dog in a horrific way brings by giving your heart to any sweet little dog, I say do it and more power to you. Ana would want you to! Giving a loving home to a dog is a good thing anytime but sometimes when you are hurting and desperate, it can be just the medicine you need. It is wonderful for both of you and only you can say when it is "time" to love a dog again. Looks like you got a little charmer! Good for you!
