My studs are good so far even when a female (or 2 as was the case last time) is in heat. I know I just jinxed myself but it is true. When I am using a specific stud I keep the others together in an Xpen and the lovers out in the room. Then, switch them around.
Whiz that Pat mentioned was Shorty's son and still a young boy. But, he needed to be with his bestest buddy. I see nothing wrong with pen training the males, or females if they fight, and working with them so that no one stays the entire time in the pen.. It is a shame to lose a good stud. Before I would do that, I would work with them BUT bet that would not work. In that case, I would board one out when I have a female in heat..
The solution to this problem is not simple. I do wish them the best. Afriend was visiting with her male and he and one of my males got into it. The ONLY way I could break them up was to lift them completely off the floor by the scruffs of their necks and shake and yell "STOP" and pull them apart..Scared the bejeebees out of me but they got the idea, I was boss.. |
