I really don't trust those rating sites, the writers never have a degree in nutrition and nutrition is really complicated and more akin to chemistry. It's what all the ingredients do together, but the rating sites measure them individually.
If a food gives bad breath, that might mean your dog is having trouble digesting it and brushing it's teeth wouldn't solve the problem because the smell is coming from the stomach, not the mouth. My dogs do very well on RC, but if your dog does better on Science diet, I would definitely feed him that. The food you are feeding claims it's easy to digest and it sounds like that was part of your dogs problems. I happen to believe that Science Diet makes some excellent foods. Also, just because a dog loves a food, it doesn't mean it's a junk food, they should love what they are eating. |
