The floppy ears don't bother me, I agree with you, they can be cute, but the breeder who doesn't do the necessary grooming so that the ears will stand does bother me. She probably doesn't do any genetic testing and at the very least doesn't study the line so that she knows if the offspring will be healthy. Good breeders breed to standard and even "hobby breeders" should do this. In my opinion, there's a difference between a hobby breeder and a back yard breeder. From the picture, it looks like the snout will be rather long, and the coat looks cottony to me rather than silk. Cotton coats can look really cute, but there is a reason for silky coats they are so easy to groom and you can grow a long coat if you like without it tangling. I have one who has a silky coat and one who has a mixed cotton coat and the difference in grooming time is amazing. I personally believe in supporting hobby breeders who are doing right by the breed and you should find the best breeder you can, their dogs need good homes too.
