 My bedroom trash can solution
Okay, this will sound strange! When Taffy was a puppy, he loved to sleep on my bed while I went to the grocery store. He also would wake up and he soon discovered he could tip over the trash can and shred all the paper, etc. Well, one day I took my trash can out of the room, and looped a plastic grocery bag over the back of my bedroom door handle, where it is almost unseen! The bag is too high for Taffy! I find the height and size very handy for me...no bending! I also like this behind-the-door-bag, because I NEVER have to 'empty' and reclean my trash can...I just tie a knot with the 2 bag-handles and take the bag downstairs to put into the garage garbage cans. I keep a few of these grocery bags in my closet, and just recycle them one at a time behind my door! Nobody sees them! Taffy is now 3 yrs old & doesn't bother the den's trash can downstairs as he's always with us, and he has forgotten all about 'trash cans' in favor of his toys! My bedroom 'trash' now goes unmolested, and the bags are easier and more sanitary as they aren't reused like my room's blue trash can. |
