It is not new. But...most AAHA hospitals blanketly recommend doing DHP every 3 years now. Our hospital has moved to every 5 years and their rationale is based on the above links. The only new part is that maybe more hospitals will now move to every 5 years. When I found out that this change might take place in June some members wondered where the 5 year idea came from.
