This just makes me so very, very sad to read. My very Rescue I adopted my late Audrey came from a place like this. She was 8 years old when we adopted her. It took over two years for her to learn to trust and not cower in fear.
I was so blessed to be able to have her for 4 years before her poor old body just gave out from all the negelect that she suffered before we adopted her.
It's almost as if she wrote that story.
