It could be a simple infection....hard to say. I would keep a very very close eye on it. That looks like a huge bump...which could be a salivary gland...but not sure because I don't know if they are located there. There is one close to the eye, but it causes the eye to bulge.

Thanks for the advice. If I don't see an improvement by tomorrow morning, I will take him for a second opinion. I agree that it doesn't look like anything to fool around with. He is eating as much as ever, so his mouth must not be sore. I am praying it's better by tomorrow.
