Usually champion blood lines are not important to people looking for a pet but the health of the pup is as well as the fact that they want a pup that looks like the breed that they are seeking.

I don't know what you consider "reasonable" as far as price. If you mean inexpensive then you are taking chances with just what kind of a dog you will end up with. People who sell inexpensive pups usually are not taking all the precautions they should when breeding.

The AKC has breed clubs that have breeder referral people who can direct you to reputable breeders. These people usually have pups they will sell as pets for a reduced price but you will pay for the experience and testing that went into breeding exceptional pups. You can do a search for conformation clubs in your state. These clubs have a tab you can click to find the referral person.
