Yes definitely a food can cause drainage and gunk! Joey eyes were fine until I switch to Blue Wilderness and brown gunk formed on his eyes, I didn't even totally switch him, but by the third day, I realized it must be the food and I stopped it, and the eyes improved dramatically within 24 hours. It took another 2 weeks to completely clear up. So after about a month I tried it again, his eyes were fine and within one day copious brown thick liquids were coming from his eyes, almost like gravy, but gunk describes it well. I stopped the food immediately and again it took several weeks to completely dry out. It was so bad, that it had stained his beard. My groomer wondered what in the heck happened to him and I vowed never to play around with his food again.
