The kickback they get is actually quite small, just so you know. It's not a big money maker. I think some vets may recommend it for profit (while concurrently believing in the food) and some may recommend it more for prescription diet / specialty issues.
There are many dogs on here who wouldn't be alive if it weren't for some of their prescription diets. They do have some very novel Rx diets that are key to some dogs being able to survive. So, I think for that alone - they do deserve some kudos for researching and developing the more novel diets.
Btw, I should maybe say that I don't feed SD and never have - so I'm not promoting it bc I feed it. I actually feed premade raw. But if my dog had an issue and SD had the only solution, I would def feed it! |
Thanks Ann. I truly believe it saved Rosie's life. I don't think my vet is getting rich off it. Or he wouldn't have been ok with me home cooking as well. I think he would have pushed the SD. Ladyjane also has seen Hills do well for certain dogs if I remember correctly.
Buffy512, I felt the same way you did about it. Until I truly needed to keep my girl well. I understand being skeptical. However, just keep in mind that it all boils down to what is best for your pup.
