I tell you from my experience with Pearl she followed Sophie Kate around all day (still does) and would learn by example (i.e., Sophie Kate naps, Pearl naps, Sophie Kate drinks water, Pearl drinks water).

Remember be patient, show them that it is okay to explore as long as they are within the boundaries of good inside behavior.
I'm home all day and hubby works from home, so we'll be there and will be patient. We used to take in abused ferrets and I've worked with terrible biters, it took patience, being quiet, slow in movements and time. We'll let the dog pick his own pace.

Glad to know they can do adapt. Pearl is a lucky girl.
