I definitely understand what you're saying. I feel bad for the groomer b/c from what you posted, she seems to really care. Like you said, some groomers won't even bother telling you and will act "surprised" when you bring it up. I feel bad for you b/c I know you want to make Dex all better but there's a limit to what you can do. And Dex.. b/c he's a BABY!!!!! I hope it heals really soon for everyones sake!
