Update: The vet said it's a hot spot from an allergic reaction. No idea what she had a reaction to either. She is on oral antibiotics and a topical spray. I will take her back for a recheck in a week. The good news is that her shoulder doesn't seem to be bothering her anymore so the meds & crate rest are working for that. Now we just have to battle the hot spot.
