Just remember with a sling many of them have an open top. You always have to be mindful when you lean forward that you risk the possibility of dumping out your pet. Even with them attached to the chain you have a dangling pet. I learned that with Buster as I was doing things around the house and leaned over to pick something up and almost dumped him out, I now grab him when bending. I am researching slings as well but ones that the top can close up. Also in researching I have learned some do not have a flat sturdy bottom and people complained that if you set the sling down it can tip over. Check how deep they are does you dog like to lay down or sit and look out? Buster likes to look out some slings are too deep you might need a pillow or towel to boost them up, what will their chin rest on if they like to look out. Buster would rest his neck on the sling edge but every time I walked it would bump his neck and I was afraid of injuring his trachea. I agree with lap princess you have to be careful that they don't get overheated. I really like the design of the YHR sling and don't mind the price because the money is going to help rescue pups and not just the store. I learned it is better to wait and get the right item even if it is a little more money as I have lots of cheaper items that did not work out. Best of luck with finding the right sling.
