I am new to the board but have lurked from time to time over the years. I decided to register and post a question. We have an 11 year old female(Sophie) that has been with us since she has been 10 weeks old. She has never showed any interest in other dogs no matter the size, over the years. She is gentle and not aggressive. We recently adopted a male Yorkie pup (Oliver) from a friend who had a liter and our female wants no part of him. In fact she runs away from him, when he comes close to her. The new puppy is also not agressive but he is super playful. I have had Yorkies all my life and grew up having 2 at a time. I know that when you bring home a second dog, it takes some time for the first dog to get adjusted, however I am concerned because Sophie is seems afraid of the little guy. As long as he doesnt come close to her, she is in good spirits, but she heads upstairs once he gets close. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Does it just take a long time or is there a point where no matter what, this will never change?
