I would definitely get the papers updated and get a copy of the registration. I have Bella registered with the AKC service that helps locate lost pets--it's just one extra security measure (besides microchipping) in case she gets lost. Also, if (heaven forbid) you ever have to find Jasper a new home, it will make it easier to transfer him to someone who wants a Yorkie with papers.
