My little Teddy is 4.5lbs. One day I was hanging clothes on the line to dry and Teddy was sitting at my feet smelling whatever was in the grass. A huge redtail hawk did a close 'fly-by' and scared the heck out of me! Needless to say, we are extremely cautious when we are outside with him. He is never outside alone and is always close enough to scoop up if we see danger (I have chickens and they alert when something bad is nearby). I can't imagine anyone just letting their small dogs outside unattended (I won't even go into the invisible fence part of the discussion
