I don't know about your state, I guess it's different than Ca but when I was in school, there was no interest until about 6-9 months after graduation, depending on the loan. That is if yours are indeed a school loan from the fed and not a bank loan. The only loan that was interest accrued during school was the PLUS loan which is a parent loan.

If its a student loan from the fed you can request deferments w no interest. But again like I said while you are I school, no interest is accrued. Even when there is interest, it's very very low compared to bank loans!
