| New Home needed for my 2 furbabies It is with a very sad heart that I post about trying to find new homes for our two sweet yorkie babies. Please be kind about our decision to look for new homes for them- this is a very difficult step for me to take. I am beating myself up over this as I love them and feel like I’m failing them. Our reasons for finding them new homes are that our toddler is tormenting them and stressing them out even with me trying to always be there to keep them all safe, and we are concerned both about our son hurting them and the possibility of our boy Yorkie being provoked to snap/bite at him. Both these babies have some anxiety – this is not their first home. They have been with us for 4 years and we have been working with a vet behavior specialist for the past year and a half. We made dramatic progress with their anxiety, but are seeing a decline now that our baby is mobile and causing them stress. I’ve written a description for each of them and will give details to those who think they may have a place in their home and heart for either of our furbabies. They love each other but both attach more to people than each other, so they could be ok being separated. We have also contacted a local rescue who may be able to help us look for new homes for them, but I hope that I may find a wonderful home for them through this forum as there are so many people who love yorkies and understand them well.
Baci is a healthy 6-lb, 6 yr old male Yorkie with a beautiful silky coat. Baci (“bah-chee”) is the Italian word for “kisses,” and Baci is such a sweetie- he loves to give little lick-kisses to his people. Baci has a spunky personality and loves a little play with his squeaky toys, but also loves to just curl up near his people and take a good nap. He loves to be petted and brushed and be the center of attention and affection. Baci is potty trained, up to date on shots, fixed, and micro-chipped. He knows how to sit, stay, down, roll over, shake, “go to bed” and even will spin around on his back feet and “dance.” Baci is that yorkie who absolutely LOVES being dressed up in clothes and has a bunch of shirts, sweaters, jackets and coats. He also will jump right in a bag or purse and would happily be carried that way if it means he gets to spend more time with you. Baci does not like to be confined, so prefers not to be crated. He also doesn’t like to be left alone for long periods of time, so he would like a person who can be home with him much of the time. Baci is equally fond of women and men, but he’s not a fan of cats. He would do fine with another dog who is calm and wouldn’t play with him roughly. He would like a family with no small children (none under 6 yrs, preferably none under 10 yrs old). His current family has a new toddler who is making Baci very stressed. Baci had some neglect in his first 2 years of life, but has been very loved for the last 4. Baci takes some medicine for anxiety, but his vet thinks could take less and maybe eventually none at all if he’s in a less stressful environment.
Bella is a beautiful, healthy 7-lb, 6 yr old female Yorkie who loves nothing more than to be near her person(s). She is a sweet, loving, gentle, submissive, lap-baby who loves to be petted and brushed and will be the shadow at her person’s feet. She loves food and is very treat motivated. She knows basic commands like sit, stay, down, shake, “go to bed” and even will spin around on her back feet and “dance.” She is so good-natured, she passed the canine good citizen test required to be a therapy dog. She’s a bit of a lazy girl and prefers not to go on walks for the most part, but loves to lay in the grass for a bit on a sunny day. She is up to date on all shots, fixed, and micro-chipped. She is very good about being bathed, touched, and riding in the car. Bella had a rough start in her first 2 years of life so has some anxiety and can be a little slow to warm up to men. She has been living with her current family for the past 4 years and her anxiety improved very much, but she is now very stressed by the family’s little toddler. She would like a family with no small children (none under 6 yrs, preferably none under 10 yrs old). She also would like a new owner who will be at home with her much of the time. She’s not a fan of cats, but would be fine with another dog who is calm and wouldn’t play roughly with her. Being confined makes Bella anxious, so she prefers not to be crated. Bella takes some medicine to help with her anxiety, but her vet thinks she may need less of it if she’s in a calmer environment. |
