There is no right or wrong way to get through grief, we've all had to take it one day a time. Five years ago I lost my Schnauzer girl Sachi, suddenly and unexpectedly at 8 yrs. old. I was devastated, and so depressed for a month I could hardly function. I immediately started looking for another pup, which led me to getting my first Yorkie Tiki. Though not a replacement for Sachi, Tiki brought joy back into our lives, and helped our hearts heal. I got a little carried away though, and added 3 more within a year.
Sachi still holds a special place in our memories, but it sure is nice to have a house full of puppy love.
Maybe when the time is right you and your daughter will again enjoy a new little furry bundle of love. |
The encouragement and support has been overwhelming and so helpful...Thanks so much for helping another family grief their loss....We have been talking about filling our home with the love a yorkie puppy brings, although he will never be Elvis, he will be an extension of his love....
