Huey loves to run away for someone to throw him a toy. Yes, he brings the toy & then runs before it is thrown, kinda like a dad tossing a football to a kid and telling him to "go long". Anyway, my point is that many times the thrown toy (usually NOT a soft plushy toy but a hard plastic squeeky toy) will hit him square on the head and he will shake his head and look back like "you did that on purpose". For the next little bit, he will wait for the toy to land before he runs. Once, a broom that was leaned against the wall got hit by an errant bounce and fell-if he hadn't jumped quickly, it would have landed on him. Ever since, he steers very wide around objects leaned against walls and if a toy lands under something like that, he approaches very cautiously and very gingerly will work the toy out with one paw while watching to make sure the broom or mop or whatever does not fall.
It is funny, but every time I hit him in the head with a toy, I feel so bad, even though it is his own fault.
