My Daisy is 10. I noticed her tongue hanging out sideways one time and just as I saw it she changed back to normal. I don't know why. I think some older dogs who are missing teeth have tongues like that. Maybe someone else has an answer. Daisy does a little snorting and congested breathing when she first lies down at night but it usually goes away once she gets to sleep. She has allergies and I give her Benadryl in the morning and evening.

Let me know what the vet says. I have mentioned the breathing to the vet and they don't seem concerned. Last year her allergy symptoms completely went away at the end of November so I am hoping they do again this year.
