Nope there is a very short leash on it so he can move around inside of it that attaches to his harness but he can't jump out. His entire goal in the car is to be able to see out the window so this is perfect for him. It also keeps him from falling all ober the seat when the car is moving. It is called "the Tagalog booster seat". The brand is "SolveIt". It's a medium and will carry up to 12 lbs. Guido is 3.5lbs and I can imagine up to about a 5-6lb yorkie fitting "comfortably" in this size.
