This may be a silly question, but I was wondering if clothes for Yorkies serve a functional purpose, or are they just a fashion statement? I have always assumed that they are just adorable accessories, (and wondered how you get your precious puppy to wear them without protest!), but now that the weather is getting cooler I am thinking that I want to cover my baby when we go out for a walk! Am I just being over-protective? Do Yorkies get chilled in cooler weather? Does their "natural" coat make them more susceptible to the cold than dogs that have thicker coats and undercoats? My Mia shakes from fear when I take her on a walk (trying to get her used to the big bad world!), so I wouldn't know if she is actually shivering from the cold, or not.
Of course, I'd love an excuse to splash out on some cute little outfits for my girl.
How do you get them used to wearing clothes?
