It does have alcohol in it, which is a controversial ingredient. However, my dogs are doing great on it.
My vet recommended to me a non-anesthetic dental. I'm undecided. Yes, another controversial topic. I don't have the info on hand, but it's a company that visits vet offices that does dentals without the use of anesthesia (only for very cooperative dogs). I haven't decided yet what I want to to do. Max is 16 pounds and Cooper 11, but it's still scary, like you said.
