Updat....Pat's transfer over to UVA today didn't happen. UVA Hospital had a flood on higher level and patient had to be moved etc. Neuro surgery is backed up and no time is open. They are to call me 24 hours before the transfer so I will have time to drive back down, I'm staying to in VA tonight anyway, I feel so bad and have such a sore throat. I'll stop at my doctors on the way home in e morning...no time to be sick for sure!
Pat is now moving every limb and was sitting out by the nurses desk when I arrived today, lol. He was busy trying to take his padded mitts off, however, when they do he gets busy undoing his seat strap and pulling things off, says he wants to stand up.
When they put him back to bed, PT actually got the chair close to the bed and held onto Pat he, stood, pivoted and sat his skinny behind on the bed. It was wonderful to see, but made me a nervous wreck too. He is weak and shaky but standing.
