Anytime there is a poisonous snake or spider bite, the degree of injury is dependent on the amount of venom injected into the wound. Most often, venom will turn skin/tissue black as it's very toxic and kills any cells it contacts.

It's possible that no venom was injected by the spider, or minimal venom residue on it's fangs, so you may just be dealing with infection...
