As Gizmo is a young pup, I went with the vets recommendation, and put him on yorkie puppy 29. He eats eat very well, although I make small changes throughout the day with it. In the morning I mix a bit of yobaby vanilla yogurt with it, which he gobbles up, I do this to make his ears stronger so they will stand up, as it has 25% calcium. Then during the day I add hot water and mix, let it sit for about 5 minutes, so it's still nice and warm. I do the water/food mix for the rest of the day until bedtime. Then at bedtime I give him the dry kibble for over night. He eats all of it great, even though the kibble is always the same.
For treats, they are all dehydrated meat mixes such as salmon, beef with brown rice and a few others. Those are just a few a day for when he's being super good and gets rewarded for his behavior. They are all little soft jerky type squares and I only tear off little pieces of the square.
He has not had any digestive problems at all on this diet and his poops are nice and firm. I did learn he had an allergy to chicken when I tried the boiled chicken breast, it gave him the runs, so. Stopped it and they immediately went away, so I now make sure there is no chicken in anything I give him. |
