I had the same problem to with my boston terrier and I found the best solution! They sell these potty pad holders at pet stores where you place the pad and then on top you place a holder and click lock it in and done they won't play with it any more. Also I learned in Cesar Milan to place water bottles or shoe laces or them to be able to rip and tear them apart so they get that ripping apart feeling out of them. The water bottle worked miracles with my boston, the cracklings noise would make him think he was ripping something apart.
