Thank you all for your comments!

We went to the vet first thing in the morning. She, too, couldn't believe the groomer could be that careless.

Maggie is ok. The skin in the center of the pinched up part will fall off as it is dead. On the edges, it's still alive, so she may heal with horns?! I got a tiny giggle out of that because don't they all act like they have horns sometimes? The vet can't determine how it will heal so we're going to be very, very cautious and watch it non-stop (Maggie can go to work with me at my job, so she's been my shadow). If anything is starting to heal a little funny, we'll go back to the vet and let them clean it up however needed. Also, we're giving her antibiotics twice a day.

I called the groomer and let them know how angry I am. They were also disturbed and couldn't believe that happened. The office manager didn't even know they had bows with clips and was running back that minute to tell the groomers to never use them again. She said she'd need to check with corporate about how they will compensate me for my vet bills. (We went to a VCA, which isn't our usual groomer...it's corporate)

She eventually called back and left me a voicemail saying that they could credit me for vet or groomer work there even though she understands if that makes me uneasy. OR corporate could cut me a check after a fill out a W9. That could take up to 8 weeks.

I'm furious. I need to call them back Tuesday and let her know what I decide.
