Well - it's a fact that different dogs have different personalities. Sounds like yours is a really laid back quiet little thing.

Mine is very playful and likes to be held. But, the things that really get him going are children or other dogs. And, he really likes company - any age. He's always so excited to see them.

However - like a lot of dogs - he is his quietest when he and I are home alone.

You certainly would think that there might be something that your little guy would get excited about once in a while.

I'm sure he's healthy. I would think that you would know if he isn't, since you have had him for so long.

By the way - now that you mention it. My Bichon is kind of a boring dog also. He does get excited with company, etc. But basically, he just sits around. He has always been somewhat shy and quiet. That's just his nature.

It will be interesting to see what others think.

I hate to even suggest this because you'll probably just be wasting your money. But some basic blood tests might show him to have a low thyroid or be borderline anemic, etc. Who knows! However, I think you're just dealing with a very low-key personality. I know - I have one!!!!
