Everyone has had wonderful suggestions. I think I will call the Humane Society and make a personal visit if necessary to find out exactly what rescue group they contacted. The lady I spoke to on the phone was at the Humane Society when I took the dogs in. She told all of the workers that the three dogs were to be put together because the rescue group would be coming for them. She was so kind in recording their names and ages. I didn't think to take their papers in with them.
Even if they have not been adopted yet, my lease restricts me to only 1 pet. The decision which dog to keep was horrible. Raina was my first Yorkie. I had gotten her when she was 8 weeks old. Guy was a great dog, he was so smart and fearless. Wally was my baby. He was born in my bedroom and I was the first human to touch him. I love Beanie. I got her from a breeder when she was 8 weeks old. I don't think the breeder made any effort to socialize her puppies. Beanie is frightened of everything. She is so attached to me that she is always in the same room with me. She would have been traumatized by a separation from me. The others would all adjust to new homes so well that I knew what I had to do.
I know that the rescue groups vet their adopter very carefully. Today is Wally's 3rd birthday and that may be why I suddenly feel the need to contact their new homes. I am still going to check with the Humane Society about which rescue group they contacted. The new families may want the registration papers.
I think I need to change my signature!
