Gina just went to the edge and jumped in, Megan our old Yorkie, wasn't a big fan of the water, but she wanted to be with me when I went swimming, she jumped off the steps about 4ft out and 3ft up in the air, then swam out to me. I've always had dogs that went in the water. My suggestion, is let them explore the water without making then get in and see how they react. As for the life vest, we put it on her a few times before we came to my mom's house, we also put it on once we got here and today about 15 minuets before we went down to the water. Good luck, and I hope they enjoy the water.
