My vet wanted to spay Bella at 5 months, but I insisted on waiting until 7 months to give her baby teeth a chance to come out on their own, and for her bones to finish developing. I decided to spay before her first heat in order to avoid the possibility of pyrometra. Also, my vet said that even one heat cycle would increase her chance of breast cancer later. I'm glad I had her spayed when I did, but others may tell you differently. I would recommend reading up on all the pros and cons, speaking with your vet, and then making an informed decision that is right for Hannah.
