I just have to tell you guys about this... My human first grader has what at first seemed like a MONSTER of a project this year.. They are reading the Flat Stanley series of books and have to collect postcards from all 50 states! Like I said, at first it seemed like way too much to ask of first graders. Well, my first grader only needs three more states and she can put the stickers on the correct city and state by herself! (She has to put a sticker on the map for each postcard she gets!) I thought we would only be able to get a few postcards, but it has really grown and all she needs now are KY, ND, and VT. I'm so amazed at how much all of the kids have learned from this and hope any of you with Elementary school age kids get the opportunity to do this type of a project! If nothing else, the books are great!
Totally off topic huh? I apologize, I just finished helping her with the postcards that came today and am still pretty excited!
