 infuriated and sad
Had a very trying weekend with adoptions, another thread. It ended horribly. We were packing up to go when an older couple came in with a SCREAMING. 6 day old puppy. Apparently the woman had accidently stepped on his head. I took him to check him out and found a large fluid mass on the base of his head and he had blood from his nostrils and ears. We got them some warm cloths for the puppy and the number and addresses for 2 emergency vets. They chose not to go. All they wanted was for us to give them some pain medicine and since we couldn't they decided to take him home. I know he won't make it but does any living creature deserve to die in pain. We have spay and neuter laws but nobody checks unless there is a complaint. Plus all you need to get around the law is to have the dog registered with a registry, doesn't matter which one. I hope that poor baby is out of his pain now. I still.hear him screaming. |
