I agree that the pup is still young enough to work on the ears. Getting the weight of the hair off them is important. If you don't want to shave them you could try trimming some of it off with some scissors while she is resting. It is a good idea to get her used to having her ears touched and her hair combed. You don't want her to freak out when you take her to the groomers. Combing her everyday will get her more relaxed about being groomed.
