If you look in the diet section here you will see a sticky that contains a lot of recipes for treats and meals that dogs like. I stay away from grains as much as I can. I agree that cooking for your dog is much healthier than feeding the highly processed kibble that our pets are expected to live on.

If you have a butcher in your area lots of times you can get a good deal on some less expensive cuts of meat. I get various types of meat and cut them up and then put them in a blender to chop them up a bit more. I try to keep the ingredient list down. Sweet potatoes are much better for our pets than white potatoes. I use a couple of good supplements for calcium and omega 3's.

My little girl refused to eat kibble when she was a baby so I had to look into pet food a lot closer than I ever had. It is not good business and I feel much better either feeding her a good commercial raw or preparing home meals.
