Plain pads or cotton balls wet with warm water (not too hot) are great. You can also use a little flea comb with teeth spaced closely together to comb the yuckies from the corner of the eye. Then pat dry with a dry pad.
Sometimes food or water type can cause excessive staining. What kind of food does she eat? You can also try filtered or bottled water.
Environmental allergies or clogged tear ducts can also cause staining.
