No matter the size, all dogs need and deserve to be loved, cared for, and protected. There is a difference between the tiny Yorkie and other ones within breed standard and also with the larger ones. I've had both a tiny and ones between four and eight pounds, so I speak from experience. My Gracie needed more care because of her size and also because she had a small bone structure. Nothing stopped my little love bug, and she lived life full speed ahead. I have been very protective of all of my Yorkies, but Gracie took additional protection to keep her safe. Her teeth needed to be cleaned twice a year instead of the yearly dentals her two sisters had. Katie is on the upper end of breed standard, and I am loving how athletic she is. I am still very protective, and I don't allow her to jump inside, but she can't be stopped outside while running and playing. I still worry, but it's not as much as I did before with my three out of four smaller Yorkies I had before her.
