A lot of other really popular shows I tried watching but couldn't get into. I couldn't even get more than 5 mins into Dr Who. Game of Thrones seems like I could like it, but I thought it was like a comedy that I didn't get. The first clip I watched was the heart eating scene. |
Have you seen any of The Wire? It's a really amazing series about the Baltimore police department, the drug war, and the steady downfall of America. The only thing I caution is that heroin usage and trade is one of the most central themes of the entire series, and it has scenes way worse than Jane choking on her vomit. But I love it because it's not some crap made in Hollywood, but instead something written by a homicide detective and a crime reporter from the area. It has probably the three most interesting characters I have ever seen on TV:
(1) a heroin addict named Bubbles
(2) a brutal criminal named Omar
(3) a brilliant drug pusher named Stringer Bell
(
can't really find a good video without spoilers)
I love some of these scenes
I highly recommend this series if you're looking for a great drama after Breaking Bad. Plus it ended around 2007 or so, so you can watch the entire series without having to wait 6 months to see what happens next episode waiting for a new season.
