Have you tried freeze dried raw? My Mr. Finicky will eat that. For about 3 days anyway. He also loves raw. He'll eat the premade raw when he's in the mood. But he ALWAYS eats any fresh raw meat that I offer him. I don't feed raw all the time though because I'm not confident enough that I'm getting them all the nutrients they need. There aren't any official guidelines for a prey model raw diet...so I get nervous.
I'm going to buy a bag of that Royal Canin Mini Special today. I'll let you know what happens. I wouldn't feel bad about giving him Pro Plan. I know how hard it is to feed a finicky pup. When he gets bored with it, you can rotate it with a better quality food. That way it balances out.
