I've only had my yorkie for 2 days. They are the most precious things ever!
The puppies need tons of attention! Leaving him/her in the yard is probably not the best idea. In any case, from my knowledge yorkies are 'house dogs' so they shouldn't be outside much at all. I think an adult yorkie may work well for you
But wait for other responses, as I'm still new to the scene.
