We actually feed all our dogs a food that is appropriate for all life stages. That way there is no problem with the puppy eating the adult dogs' food. I also free feed so the food and water are down most of the time. All 5 of our dogs eat the same food. The puppies would go for the adult food instead of the puppy food, so this was our solution. We feed all our dogs Amicus adult food right now. The owner of Horizon said their adult formula is appropriate for all life stages and is good for the puppy, with the only difference between the puppy and the adult formula being the puppy formula has a little bit more protein and fat. There are several good all life stages foods available.
