I had to rehome a dog because of a similar issue. We have two large dogs which we had first for about 5 years. I found a terrier puppy at my school where I worked and took it home. Sweet dog. Never had an issue. Then, when they puppy was about 18 months it started being aggressive to m female lab. No matter what we tried the pup kept trying to dominate our lab but she wouldn't allow a 20 lb dog to dominate her. Constant issues finally we decided to find era new home since it didn't work. Put an add on pet finder interviewed a few families until we found one we liked. She now is an only dg with a dad who works out of the house and takes long walks on the beach, she is mug happier now. Sometimes you need to we the hard decision but what is best for both dogs. I told my girls when we first got teddy that if our current dogs would not tolerate him, we would have to find him a new home. Lucky for us both of our large dogs tolerate the pups, as they do with met dogs. Just for some reason the lab could not get along with the terrier. |
