Mucusy loose stool w/blood @ the end can be colitis. It's inflammation of the colon or lower intestines, thus the bright red fresh blood. The mucus is from the intestinal lining being expelled. Princess had this & it required antibiotics to clear up. She also got a vitamin B shot & some sub-q fluids, they can get dehydrated really fast too. It doesn't always require antibiotics, but since it's recurring, I think your little one needs to be seen by a vet. Also need to rule out hookworms, as that can have the same symptoms as colitis.
A strict high fiber, low fat & preferably no grain diet is recommended for dogs w/colitis. Absolutely no table scraps. Princess doesn't do well w/raw carrots, it gave her colitis, her colon identifies it as a foreign object. I slightly blanch all her veggies & dice it up into tiny pieces, much easier for her to digest. Hope GiGi will be ok!

4got to add that stress can also trigger colitis & it depletes the vitamin B, so they also need the vitamin B shot.
