I have 2 males. I originally was going to get a little female to pare up with my older male, but the females were fewer and farther between and I couldn't find a female that I wanted to adopt. I thought for sure I was going to have some kind of problem by putting 2 males together, but to my surprise, it couldn't have went smoother. My new dog is very submissive and easy going, so he fits well with the cranky old man who is used to ruling the roost!!
I think a lot of it depends on your dogs personality and the personalities of the puppies, more than the sex. I am not sure if the breeder is willing to let you bring your dog along...but maybe your little girl could help you pick out the puppy...or maybe if you explained your females personality to the breeder, she would be able to help you pick out the puppy that would best mesh with your female. |
