I just had my Pom to the vet last week for almost the same thing except hers was 10 times more extensive. It covered the whole area down their and stated to extend up her but. The vet said she had impacted anal glands and as rubbing herself on the carpet and it got infected. I started to put A & D ointment on it before going to the vet, but they gave me a pill antibiotic. The pill bothered her stomach so I have been using the A & D ointment and it is 60& better. Maya cannot lick herself down there because of her body shape (round) so I knew she couldn't lick it off.
I would have the vet check it out to be sure but it looks like an irritation that may be a little infected.Good luck and let us know what happens. |
